The journey begins at an old movie theater. Moviegoers walk into the midnight screening with their snacks and soda, and they are ready for departure. As the projector light goes on and the reel starts to whir, the theater becomes a train car and transports the passengers to the beloved and somehow nostalgic world of film.

Nearly nine months after James Corden said goodbye to The Late Late Show, CBS has finally dated his replacement. After Midnight, a reboot of the old Comedy Central game show @midnight, starring rising comedian Taylor Tomlinson, will premiere on Tuesday January 16.

湾岸MIDNIGHT是一部可以让沉迷于极速的人们不断向终点挑战的作品。主人公朝仓驾驶着被称为“恶魔のZ”的“S30Z”还有外科医生岛达也、秋川零奈向着首都最高速的目标发起挑战。 而制作这部动画的STAFF班组将再次集结曾参加过《头文字D》的岸间信明、横井秀章，担任监修的是土屋圭市。而为主角朝仓配音的则是在日剧《流星花园》里出演花泽类一角的人气演员小栗旬，女主角秋川零奈的声优是すほうれいこ，岛达也一角由三木真一郎担当。小栗旬对于自己出演男主角声优朝仓一角表示，因为自己非常喜欢车子，但对竞速世界却完全不了解。但读了原作之后深感作品的魅力，决定更加努力完成朝仓这个角色。由于朝仓的性格沉默寡言，所以如何表现出他强烈被“Z”的魅力吸引是最关键的事。
